SECTION FUNCTIONS
CIVIL REGISTRATION UNIT
- Ensuring that the CRT System works properly so that civil proceedings run smoothly.
- Register, consider and decide civil cases under the jurisdiction of the Magistrate as provided by section 90 of the Subordinate Courts Act 1948 [Act 92] and other written Laws.
- Consider and decide on interlocutory applications.
- Recording Default Judgments and Consent Judgments.
- Hearing and making decisions on applications for execution of judgments.
- Processing draft / Net orders and draft / Net judgments.
- Process Distress Writs, Judgment Debtor Summons and Execution Writs and ensure the smoothness of the judgment execution process.
- Ensure registration and updating of cases using the Court Information Integration Registration System (SISPIM).
- Provide monthly statistics for civil cases and ensure that information is accurate and authentic.
CRIME REGISTRATION UNIT
- Ensuring that the CRT System works properly so that criminal proceedings run smoothly.
- Register, consider and decide criminal cases under the jurisdiction of the Magistrate as provided by section 85 of the Subordinate Courts Act 1948 [Act 92] and other written Laws including cases involving children as offenders and departmental suits.
- Register, consider and decide various Criminal Applications including remand applications, bail applications, applications under section 413 of the Criminal Procedure Code, Arrest Warrant applications, Search Warrant applications and so on.
- Process Arrest Warrants, Imprisonment Warrants when Imprisonment or Fines are imposed, Subpoenas, Arrest Warrants, Search Warrants, Orders to Produce and other forms in criminal proceedings.
- Ensure registration and updating of cases using the Court Information Integration Registration System (SISPIM).
- Provide monthly statistics for criminal cases and ensure the information is accurate and authentic.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND FINANCIAL UNIT
This unit is responsible for ensuring regularity in the following matters:
- Financial;
- Human resource Management;
- Asset and store management;
- Document security management;
- security management / Care of the court building and environment; and
- others.
